My life is defined by many moments, but the one constant has been reading. I can read anywhere, anytime, for any reason. I am enthralled by books in all shapes, forms, and topics.
My entire professional career, my colleagues have teased me about the voracious amount of reading I do and talk about. In fact, my current leadership team hilariously banned me from buying them more books. My love of reading was a compelling reason for starting this blog…if I write about what I read, perhaps it will inspire fellow educators with knowledge or resources that impact students.
One question I often get asked is how do I decide what to read? Twitter is a tremendous resource for me. Scrolling through tweets, I often get inspired by a quote shared and search out the source. But without question, the best advice I have received for choosing a book was given to me by Kristen Norris (@ksnorris). In one of our many conversations about books, she shared:
I always read a book that someone has told me changed their life.

What a great philosophy! After our conversation, I started prioritizing books that changed someone’s life on my reading list. Atomic Habits is the book for me…it has profoundly impacted how I think about all aspects of my personal and professional life. What’s a book that has changed your life?
